The MECA V4 metering unit is equipped with a planting system with shoes. Its design offers two types of depth control: Front gauge wheel or balancing system.

On the MECA V4 Front depth control metering unit the depth control is done by the front wheel.

On the MECA V4 Balancing system metering unit the depth control is done by the front wheel and the rear wheels.

• The rear press wheel unit, made up of 2 V-wheels, closes the furrow around the seed for optimal seed germination.

• The intermediate press wheel, adjustable in pressure, presses the seed down into the bottom of the furrow for rapid and regular plant emergence.

• The shoe opens the furrow at a depth defined by the front gauge wheel (together with the rear press unit on the balancing system).

• The clod remover clears the future planting line, removing clods or stones whilst the gauge wheel presses down the soil and controls the depth.

• The double discs open the furrow for an easier passage of the shoe in low-till conditions. The 2 wheels ensure the depth control.

The MECA V4 metering unit has been specially designed for sowing sugarbeet. Constant depth control, excellent seed placement and plant emergence are the main advantages of a planter unanimously recognized by the sugarbeet growers.

The MECA V4 range is now marketed in an electirc driven version, MECA V4E:

• Seed discs driven by electric motor.

• Seed population management from the cab with the ISOBUS TOUCH or TOUCH Mini terminal.

• Working speed by radar (zero slipping).

• Compatible with the automatic row cut-off control by GPS (TC-SC features).
