Rental policies & FAQ

We keep things simple and safe — clear rules up front so your rental day stays smooth.

Zero Tolerance: No Customer Hauling • Pickup Only at OECo Houghton Lake

If a machine is found loaded onto a customer vehicle/trailer, deposit forfeiture & recovery fees apply.

Deposit & coverage

  • Security deposit: $2,500 hold on the day of rental
  • Mandatory insurance: $60 (covers damages after the first $2,500)
  • Damage waiver: $50/day (limits accidental damage responsibility to $1,500)
  • Damage waiver does not cover theft, rollover, water damage, or misuse.

Rider requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Riders must be 50+ inches tall
  • Renters must be 21+
  • Drivers 18+ may operate if accompanied by a 25+ security holder

Can we keep the machine overnight? ⌄
Yes. Machines do not need to be returned daily. Make sure your lodging allows ORVs. If you stay outside Houghton Lake, you’re responsible for your route.
Can I haul a machine? ⌄
No — customer hauling is not allowed under any circumstances. This is a Zero Tolerance Policy and will result in loss of security deposit and recovery fees.
What are the fuel rules? ⌄
Return the unit full or at the same level provided. Use premium 93 octane fuel and show receipt.
No gas cans.
What’s required to ride? ⌄
Driver’s license required. Riders must be 50+ inches tall. Helmets and seatbelts required.
Zero tolerance for impairment.
What is the weather & cancellation policy? ⌄
  • 48+ hours notice: full refund
  • 24–47 hours: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours / no-show: no refund
Same-day or day-before bookings receive no refunds.

Return during business hours only. Fuel returned full. Cleaning fee may apply if needed.

Stick to ORV routes and seasonal roads only. Follow all local and state rules.
