Most snowblower problems are preventable with regular service. These are the issues our technicians see most often.

Won’t Start After Summer Storage
Stale fuel breaks down over summer — the most common cause of no-start at the first snowfall. Fuel system service and fresh fuel resolves this in most cases.

Not Throwing Snow Far Enough
A worn auger paddle (single-stage), damaged impeller, or low engine power reduces throw distance. Auger and impeller inspection restore full clearing performance.

Drive System Won’t Engage
A worn drive belt, failed friction disc, or stretched control cable keeps two-stage snowblowers from self-propelling. Drive system service restores reliable traction.

Shear Bolts Keep Breaking
Shear bolts break to protect the auger from rocks and ice. If they’re breaking frequently, the auger gearbox or a jam in the auger housing may be contributing. We inspect the full auger system.

Chute Won’t Rotate
A frozen or corroded chute, a broken chute rod, or a worn deflector cable keeps snow from being directed where you need it. Chute and cable service restores full directional control.

Electric Start Not Working
A dead battery, corroded terminals, or a failed heating element prevents electric starting. We test and repair the full electric start system.

Pre-Season Service
The best time to service your snowblower is before the snow arrives. Pre-season appointments are available and typically have shorter wait times than mid-winter. Don’t wait until the first storm to find out your machine won’t start.
After the Season
Post-Season Storage Prep
Proper storage prep after the snow season prevents fuel system problems during the off-season. We drain and treat the fuel system, and recommend storing with fresh oil and a stabilized tank.

Yes. Fuel left over summer breaks down and causes hard starting or no-start at the first snowfall. Annual service prevents this.
If the rubber paddles on a single-stage snowblower are cracked, chunked, or worn down to the metal, they need replacement. We inspect auger paddles as part of every single-stage service.
